Dear Rosario Empanadas was born from family, tradition, and love.
I grew up in Rosario, Argentina, where empanadas were more than just food — they were moments shared in the kitchen, surrounded by family, laughter, and recipes passed down through generations. I learned how to make them from my mom, watching her cook for us every day with care and dedication. Every fold of the dough and every filling carries those memories with me.
The name Dear Rosario comes from my hometown — a place that means everything to me. It represents how much I love my roots, my culture, and my country, and my desire to share that with others through food.
When I moved to the United States, I realized how much I missed those flavors from home — my mom's food, the smell of her cooking, and those simple moments that meant everything. I still remember coming home after playing soccer with my friends and being welcomed by that warm, comforting aroma from the kitchen.
It was hard not having her food anymore, because for me, her cooking always represented love. I found myself trying to recreate those flavors, remembering the way she cooked, and making her recipes the best I could. Even today, I still call her to ask for suggestions and guidance.
What started as cooking for myself and my family became something bigger — a way to bring those same feelings and flavors to others.
Today, I run Dear Rosario Empanadas with my family by my side — my wife and my baby are a big part of this journey. They are my motivation and the reason I put so much care into everything I make.
Every empanada is handmade, using the same traditions and techniques I learned growing up. For me, this is more than a business — it's a way to keep my culture alive, honor my roots, and bring people together through food.
